For families with children ages zero to four, the role of preschool is to foster learning in a fun environment. Activities include expansion of social skills, promotion of children getting along with others, and experimenting with new materials. In our preschool classrooms children can select activities from a variety of learning centers such as; dramatic play, blocks, science, computers, cognitive games, books, music, creative arts, writing, and fine motor manipulative. Children will learn daily by seeing, tasting, smelling, touching, hearing, moving, and choosing under the supervision of qualified preschool teachers. Wyandotte Public Schools preschool teachers have specialized training in early childhood so that they are able to help children learn in developmentally appropriate ways. With teachers empowered with the right skills we can help prepare children for school success. Families are encouraged to visit the classrooms and observe with or without children before applying. The classroom is open to observation during the school day. We ask that you call us first to make arrangements for observation, as our classrooms take field trips and have special activities weekly that may make for schedule conflicts. Applications can be submitted at any time during the school year. Available spaces are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. *A $50 non-refundable registration fee is required in order to secure a space for your child. Please contact the Early Childhood Program Office to inquire about multi-child discounts.
